NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Joan Rose Sanders passed peacefully away in Nashville, TN, on March 3, 2013.

Arrangements are by Nashville Funeral and Cremation Services.

She was born Anita Joan Wilson, January 25, 1932, in Edmond, OK, to John and Lois Wilson. She was raised in Norman, OK. Moving later to Amarillo, TX, in 1957, she raised four children and was the office manager for The Khiva Temple until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents and loving sister, Johnice Bass.

She is remembered for her love of music and reading, her love of sweet treats, a life full of good times and adventures, but most of all, for the love she shared with her family and many friends.

Joan is survived by her four children: two sons, James Rose and his loving wife Jane of Austin, TX, John Rose of Nashville, TN, and two daughters, Candace Smith of Nashville, TN, and Lauri Sanders of Ocean Springs, MS, her five grandchildren, Caitlin Rose, Hayley Rose Maurer, Gavin Smith, Marlana Smith, and John Christian Rose, and her beloved nephews, Mike Bass, Jason Bass, niece, Gina Henry and last but not least in Joan's words "the blessing I never deserved" Peggy McClain of Las Vegas, NV.

In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family suggests donations be made in her memory to the Shriners Burn Center which was affiliated with the Shriners of Khiva Temple, Amarillo, Texas. Their website is www.donate2shc
