"Doris T. Borland, a retired teacher at Walden Elementary School and lifelong area resident, died Saturday March 12, 2005 at Montgomery Nursing Home. She was 84 years old.

The daughter of Arthur and Helen VanVoorhis Tuthill, she was born April 24, 1920 in Goshen, N.Y.

Doris was a member of the First Reformed Church of Walden; past president of the Walden Women's Club; member of the Walden Historical Society; and the Walden Sunshine Society.

She was the widow of the late Wilfred B. Borland and John J. Feyko.

Surviving her are one son, John W. Borland and his wife, Janice, of Montgomery; two daughters, Nancy Conroy and her husband, Thomas, of Newburgh, and Jeanne Chute of New Hampshire; six grandchildren: Thomas, Robert, Michelle, Steven, Matthew, and Robert; five great-grandchildren: Sarah, Meg, Rebekah, Cortney and Craig, Jr.; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday March 15, 2005 from 4-6 PM at Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, N.Y.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16 at 11:00 AM at First Reformed Church in Walden, N.Y.

Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden, N.Y.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Josephine-Louise Public Library.

Arrangements were made by Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc."
