Frankie (Mrs. Preston) Parker, born on December 27, 1932 to Oscar Franklin and Ethel Leota (Walker) Butlar in Quanah, Texas, passed into Jesus' loving care on March 5, 2013 in Abilene, Texas. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, March 8, 2013 in the Piersall Benton Chapel 733 Butternut St, with burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation with the family will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Frankie grew up in Quanah, Texas and graduated from Quanah High School in 1950 as Salutatorian. She was active in debate and extemporaneous speaking and was a very talented singer. In 1957 she graduated with honors from Abilene Christian College where she was a President of the "W" Club and participated in the debate team. Frankie worked in the library and it is there that she met her future husband William Preston Parker. They were married on October 23, 1953 and they enjoyed over 59 wonderful years together.

There were many things that Frankie participated in during her 60 years of living in Abilene. She was an active member and bible class teacher at 11th and Willis Street Church of Christ, a Girl Scout leader, and active member of the PTA at the local, district and state levels, a member of the Abilene Garden Club and a Hospice volunteer for 12 years. Frankie honored God and her family in everything she did.

Surviving Frankie are her husband, her children; Cindy (Eddie) Earles of Abilene, Candy (Gene) Henderson of Allen, and Bill (Suzette) Parker of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren; Jamie (Amanda), Brody and Molly Earles of Abilene, Katey Earles of Nashville, Tennessee, Jason (Abby) Henderson of Katy, Jenna (Seth) King of Memphis, Tennessee, Ryan, Jared, and Lindsey Parker of Colorado Springs, Colorado; great-grandsons Trae and Dillon Earles; brother Oscar Butlar Jr. and sister-in-law Mildred Butlar as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers; J.L., Bob, and A.J., a sister, MayDelle Jones and a great-grandson Dixon Earles.

The family wants to express special appreciation to: Dr. Joseph Ferguson, her long-time caring physician, her special nurses and aids at Hendrick Hospice and the loving nurses and caregivers at Abilene Nursing and Rehab Center, Northern Oaks Living and Rehab Center and Coronado Nursing Center.
