Alice Neoma Hoover, 89, of Harrison Township, passed away at 9:50 p.m., Friday at the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.
Oval photoShe was born on March 28, 1923, in Tully Township, the daughter of the late Noah and Bessie P.(Clayton) Poling. On December 26, 1943, she married Dale A. Hoover who survives.
Other family members include her three daughters, Bonnie J. Wermer of Van Wert, Patricia (Brent) Basil of West Chester, Ohio, and Deborah Sheets of New Bavaria, Ohio; one sister, Pauline Eddy of Convoy; seven grandchildren, Chad (Denise) Wermer, Julie Berger, Dennis (Lori) Sheets, David (Brandi) Sheets, Dale Sheets, Angela (Brant) Barcikowski, and Nick (Monica) Basil; nine great grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, and Ayla Wermer, Cody and Collin Sheets, Brody, Ben and Joshua Basil, and Gavin Barcikowski; and two step great grandchildren, John Morrison and Rylan Crank.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Frema Habegger, Fern Simmers and Fortress E. Mohl and three brothers, Doyle, Maurice and Marvin Poling.
Alice was a 1941 graduate of Tully Convoy High School. She was a member of St. Paul's Reformed Church in America and the Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the former Convoy Grange.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at St. Paul's Reformed Church in America with Pastor Chad Strabbing officiating. Burial will follow at Evangelical Protestant Cemetery.
