Roswell Child died at his late home on the Common last Saturday morning at the age of 77 years. Mr. Child had been in his usual health and was up and about the house until he retired, about 10 o'clock. He called upon his son a few minutes after and Dr. Haylett was sent for. He only lived a few hours after the doctor arrived. Mr. Child had always lived in the house he was born in. He leaves five sons and two daughters, Merril, with whom he resided, Abner and Leon, of Moretown, Henry, of Montpelier, Udin and Mrs. Don Turner, of Waterbury, and Mrs. John Egan, of Middlesex. The funeral was held on Monday, Mrs. Emma Paul officiating.
