She attended St. Peter Lutheran Church and volunteered at the Joliet Senior Center. Retired from Vavrus and Associates. She enjoyed water aerobics, also walking and biking the local nature trails with her husband.
Gertrude is survived by a son, Karl Krueger of Joliet, IL and a daughter, Karen Krueger of Arlington, VA. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Krueger (2008); her parents; five sisters; and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Thursday, March 7, 2013, at 5:00P.M. with Rev. Karl Hess officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Alpena, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated. Visitation Thursday from 3:00P.M. until the time of services.
