William F. "Bill" Chappelear, Jr. 81 years of Arlington, NE. died Monday March 4, 2013 at Arbor Manor Living Center in Fremont. He was born August 10, 1931 at Arlington to William F. and Mayme (Bremer) Chappelear.
Bill was a graduate of Arlington High School. He served in the US Navy from April 25, 1952 to April 11, 1956 during the Korean War and was stationed in Guam. He worked for Chicago Northwestern Rail Road for several years. He started Chappelear Alfalfa & Molasses in 1961 and Chappelear Transfer of Nebraska in 1984. Bill married Beverly (Hoesing) April 27, 1957 at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Fremont. He farmed most of his life and also drove truck retiring from both in 1991.
He was a member of St; Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont and the American Legion Post 71 of Arlington, NE.
Survivors include his 3 sons, Ronald and wife Penni Chappelear of Waterloo, NE, Gary and wife Charyl Chappelear of Arlington, NE and Gene and wife Julie Chappelear of Fremont, NE; Beverly Chappelear of Fremont; brother, Duane and wife Nila Chappelear of Arlington; sister, Catherine and husband Jim Wyman of Sun City, AZ; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Charlie and Roy Chappelear.
The Funeral service will be at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.Fr. Dave Belt of st. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont will officiate. Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont in charge of arrangements.
Burial with military honors will be conducted by Arlington American Legion Post 71 and Arlington VFW Post 8332 at Arlington Cemetery, Arlington, Nebraska
