At her home in Wrightsboro, Texas, on February 10th, after an illness of more than three months, Mrs. Mary Adams, aged 32 years, wife of John Adams who is an elder in the Wrightsboro Presbyterian church, passed from this world to the home of the soul. She was born in Arkansas , but came in childhood with her parents to Gonzales county. Here, in early life she was "born again" and joined the Presbyterian church, of which she was a consistent member until God called her home.
She was sure for some time prior to her death that the end was near, and said more than once that she was ready to go. The writer was her pastor for four years, and never saw her the least bit cross. Never heard her speak ill of anyone, but always manifested the Christian spirit. She loved her church; she loved her little family; she loved her neighbors; she loved all and she honored God. She was the very embodiment of love and kindness.
In her death the church and the community sustained a great loss. To her family the loss is irreparable. She leaves a husband, two boys and two little girls to mourn their loss. Also a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Snell; one sister, Mrs. Mouser of Mathis, Texas. and three brothers, James Snell of San Antonio, Elmore and Theodore of Wrightsboro.
May heaven's rich blessings be multiplied upon the bereaved ones, and may we all rejoice in the fact that our loss is her great gain.
A very large congregation attended the funeral at the Presbyterian church, conducted by the writer.
