Marida M. Mitchell, 75, of Grand Rapids and formerly of Ludington, passed away on Monday, July 4.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1936 in Boyne City, daughter of the late Ivan R. and Pansey I. (Phillips) Griffin. Marida married Thomas Mitchell on May 25, 1968 in Ludington. He preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 2007. Marida enjoyed anything that had to do with arts and crafts.
Marida is survived by her daughters, Georgia Larson of Hesperia, Barbara (Steve) Phillips of Altoona, Kansas, Patricia (Gary) Brock of Quapaw, Oklahoma, Carol Routh of Detroit, Tine (Bartolo) Trejo-Ugalde of Grand Rapids and Brenda Trejo of Fife Lake; two sons, Nathan Routh of Hesperia and Jack (Annie) Routh of Altoona, Kansas; sisters, Pansey Mae Knott of Fountain and Mary Crest of Walhalla; brothers, Carl Griffin and Bud (Bonnie) Griffin both of Ludington; daughter-in-law, Jannett Routh of Chanute, Kansas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; son, John Ray Routh; and daughter, Marida Joyce Routh.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, July 11 at Oak Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Hilyard officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.

The family has entrusted funeral arrangements with Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
