Ethel May Fowler was the daughter of Elijah W. Fowler and Madeline Angell. Her father died in 1919 when she was 5 years old, and her mother then married Joseph L. Smith. For unknown reasons, after her marriage to Smith, Ethel and three of her siblings were sent to the Thomasville Baptist Children home. Ethel met Floyd Aubrey Brown in the children's home and they were married sometime after 1930. Ethel and Floyd had two children: Floyd A Brown Jr and Betty June. The couple divorced after 1940. Floyd Sr. did not remain in touch with his children and what became of him is not known. Ethel died in Knoxville, TN after a brief hospital stay in 1952. She was 38 years old. She is buried in Lynnhurst Cemetery, 2300 West Adair Dr. Knoxville, TN 37918 in the back left corner of the cemetery.

Update: Floyd A. Brown's records were found. He moved to Pompano Beach, FL and married Betty Elizabeth Terry. They had two children Janette and Gary. Floyd died in 1997 in Pompano Beach, FL.
