Mr. Hudson died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at a Benbrook, TX nursing home. He was born February 5, 1927 at Roff, Oklahoma to Ennis H. and Olvia Crowder Hudson. He attended Roff schools and graduated from Roff High School in 1945. He attended East Central State College and later attended Arlington State College, now the University of Texas at Arlington.
He married Alva Menser on April 16, 1948. Mr. Hudson was a materials expeditor for Vought Aircraft Corporation in Grand Prairie until his retirement. He was a former member of the Roff First Baptist Church where he served as song leader. He and his wife moved back to Texas in 1997 from Roff and he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Benbrook where he served as church greeter. Mr. Hudson served in the U. S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors inlcude his wife Alva Hudson, of the home; one son, Lowell Hudson and wife Maury, Greenville, Texas; two daughters, Becky Gregory and husband J. R., Burleson, Texas, and Vikki Windham and husband Bill, Portland, Texas; a brother, Jack Hudson and wife Sue, Chickasha; a sister, JoLeta Craig, Alamogordo, New Mexico; ten grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Hudson in 1996.
Bearers will be Justin Hall, Jacob Hall, Aaron Windham, Brandon Hudson, Dwain Stewart and Chuck Hill. Honorary bearers will be Bill Williams, Melvin Johnson, Max Ray Hudson, J. R. Gregory, Bill Windham, and J. D. Ray.
