Lafayette Adsett was the son of German Huston and Dressilla (Nelson) Adsett. He was born August 21, 1849 in Posey County, Indiana and died March 12, 1938 in Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois. Burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. He first married Melinda Kennerly on November 12, 1871 and they had five children. The wife, two sons and a daughter have died. He then married Katherine White on June 20, 1881. They had three children. The wife, one son and one daughter have died. He third married Belle Johnston on April 2, 1893. He leaves his wife, three daughters, Mollie Headly of Fairfield, Corinne Osborn of Saginaw, Michigan and Rena Akers of Mattoon.
