June T. Desrochers, age 54 years, of Tigerton passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
The former June Theresa Knaup was born March 6, 1958 in Tigerton to Kenneth and Ophelia (Steinke) Knaup. She was raised in Tigerton and graduated from Tigerton High School in 1976. She was united in marriage on June 4, 1977 to Michael J. Desrochers at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Tigerton. June worked for some time at Hillshire Farm in New London, next she started sewing for Eagle Knit in Shawano, and then she was employed at Nueske's Meats of Wittenberg for several years. June also stayed home for a while and ran a day care service. For almost the past 5 years she had been employed at Creative Converting in Clintonville. June is a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and was active in the PCCW and played the piano years ago. She helped raise awareness about breast cancer and collected a lot funds through the "Relay-For-Life" Wittenberg Chapter. She enjoyed attending all of her kids sporting events, especially the baseball games. June also liked making cookies with her grandkids and she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Mike, and five children: Teresa (Kevin) Kielblock of Scandinavia, Veronica (Ben) Schoen of Tigerton, Nick (Kristen) Desrochers of Tigerton, Cory (Molly) Desrochers of Tigerton, and Charity Desrochers of Tigerton. There are 10 grandchildren: Mackenzie, Payton & Taylor Kielblock, Isaac, Keara, & Dominic Schoen, Carson, Dane, Easton, and Blake Desrochers. She is also survived by her mother, Ophelia Knaup of Tigerton, and her father-in-law, Gerald Desrochers of Tigerton. There are 5 brothers and 3 sisters; Robert (Vicki) Knaup of Tigerton, Mary (Mike) Verkuilen of Wittenberg, Jack (Kathy) Knaup of Tigerton, Jim (Linda) Knaup of Wittenberg, Tom (Janice) Knaup of Tigerton, Carol Knaup of Tigerton, Kevin (Janet) Knaup of Clintonville, and Karen (Darrelle "J.R.") Verkuilen of Wittenberg. June is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth, her mother-in-law, Charmayne Desrochers, and two brothers, Brian and Benedict "Ben" Knaup.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 25th at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Tigerton. Fr. Patrick Lloyd will officiate and burial will be in the spring on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, and on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of the mass at the church.
