Elizabeth Arnold Pate, co-founder of The Fort restaurant in Morrison, Colo., and historical interpreter at Agrirama passed away in Tifton, Georgia. Born in Vienna, Georgia, she was instrumental in the concept, design and building of The Fort in 1962. She was a partner in The Fort from its inception until 1967. But Mrs. Arnold Pate wasn't done with history. After her last husband (she married three times after leaving Colorado) died in 2000 in Georgia, she answered an ad to be a historical interpreter at Agrirama, a living history museum in Tifton, Georgia. While there she helped create a Muscogee Nation workshop at the museum and even learned to speak the language of the Creek Indians. In recent years, she worked as a historical interpreter at Agrirama, a living history museum in Tifton, Georgia. Pate is survived by a daughter, Holly Arnold Kinney; former husband, Samuel P. Arnold; and two grandchildren, Kien Arnold and Oren McNulty. She was preceded in death by her son, Keith Arnold. Holly Arnold Kinney and Sam Arnold continue to carry on the day-to-day operations at The Fort. A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 12 at 11am at the Episcopal Church of St. John and St. Mark, 2425 Cherry Laurel Lane, Albany, GA 31705. A private service will also be held at The Fort. Cause of death: cancer, in Tifton, Georgia.
