Bernard Charles Robert Hall was born about 1846 in Rapides Louisiana, may have been orphaned by the time he was 3 years old, per 1850 US Census. Married Margaret? from Arkansas, 2/7/1865 in Caldwell County Texas. Served in Company "C" Terrell's Regiment Texas Calvary, Spring 1864 through May 1865. Discharged at Shreveport, Louisiana. Lived in Karnes, Bee, Atascosa and Wilson Counties in Texas. He applied for his pension several times and was denied for unknown reasons. In September 1914, his doctor certified that he was entirely disabled, almost blind and paralyzed. His wife received his pension only from January 1917 until her death in 1925.
