Thomas Joseph More was born March 20, 1936 in Murphysboro to Ralph Clarence and Mary Louise Byrd Moore. His siblings include Marilyn Sue Hood of Murphysboro, Anna Louise Grammer of Mahomet and Frances Jean Johanning of Bethel, Connecticut. He was preceded in death by one half brother, Jack William Lence.

He married Ruthie Middleton January 1, 1962 in Fairview Heights. She survives, as do children, Thomas Joseph Jr., Terry Joseph, both of Belleville, Gary Matthew of St. Louis, and Lisa Renee Moore of Belleville; and stepchildren, Jerry Mouser and Tandy Mouser, both of Belleville.

Mr. Moore was a retired serviceman for Gordon's Transports, Inc., in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Belleville, the National Rifle Association and Teamsters Local 618 in St. Louis.

Mr. Moore died at the age of 46 in St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville as the result of a lengthy illness.
