Sioux Falls – Frances V. Lutz, age 88, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls with interment to follow at Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
The family will be present to greet friends for visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls.
Frances Videl Hicks was born October 23, 1924 in Rowena, South Dakota to Benjamin and Alma Hicks. She attended Rowena grade school and graduated from Brandon High School.
Frances married Ivan Johnson in 1942. Ivan preceded her in death in February of 1982. She married Ralph Zandt in March of 1985. He preceded her in death in June of 1990. Frances married Kenny Lutz in March of 1996. She spent her adult life residing in Sioux Falls.
Frances spent over fifty years as a housekeeper for Herb Schoeneman. She was an active, charter member of Grace Lutheran Church. Frances enjoyed traveling and collecting salt and pepper shakers.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Kenneth O. Lutz of Sioux Falls; sister, Beverly Dykstra; brother-in-law, Paul Buss of Steen, MN; step children, George (Diane) Zandt, Ranzie (Jean) Zandt, Jim (Pam) Zandt, Marlene (Erwin) Bultje, Jan (Rod) VanZee, Joyce (Don) Rodman, Gloria (Ron) Jacobson; step son-in-law, Ron Nelson; special friend, Mary Ann (John) Hearn; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, dear relatives and friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her husbands, Ivan Johnson and Ralph Zandt; sisters, Helen Mansker and Noma Buss; brothers, Victor and Robert Hicks; parents, Benjamin and Alma (Nelson) Hicks; step daughters, Trudy (Marion) Baartman, Elaine Nelson, and Karen Ruby.
