Kenneth "Chuck" Childress, 78, passed away Sunday evening, March 3, 2013, peacefully, surrounded by family and friends in his longtime home in Keller. Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 137 E. Hill St. Keller. Burial: Bourland Cemetery, Keller. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Childress was born in Kosse to Herman W. and Velma Childress, along with two sisters, Velda and Patsy. He grew up in Riesel. He married his wife, Lorene, in 1959 and moved to the D/FW area. In 1970 they settled in Keller. Mr. Childress worked as an airline mechanic for Braniff Airways until 1982. He then went to work for Goodyear Rubber Co. and later with Long Mile Rubber Co. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Velda and her husband, Brown Fore. Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Lorene; son, Kevin and wife, Sherry; daughter, Kathy; four grandchildren, Brittney and her husband, Matt, Lacey, Shelby and Taylor; great-granddaughter, Payton; and sister, Patsy and her husband, Alton Brown.
