Thelma Clemons Graves, 80, died March 2, 2013 after a long illness. She was born in Finger, TN on November 30, 1932, the daughter of Elmer and Margie Clemons. She graduated from Millington Central High School in 1950. She married her husband, Frank on December 24, 1952, and after living in Columbia, SC and Miami, FL, they returned to Memphis. She worked as Personnel Manager at Butler Brothers, and many years for the Memphis Board of Education. In the years before her retirement, she worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital East, where she was Co-Director of the Womens Resource Center. They had 3 children, Susan Graves Moss (deceased), Frank Merritt Graves III (deceased), and Karin Graves Ruffin (Jeff). In addition to her loving husband of 60 years and her daughter, she leaves four grandchildren, David Moss, Dana Moss, Caroline Ruffin, and Carter Ruffin. Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery at 5668 Poplar Ave. has charge, and visitation will be March 6 at Noon, with service to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the cemetery following the service.
