Lester J. Walker Jr., 48, of Connellsville, died Friday, March 1, 2013, in Bluefield, W.Va., from injuries sustained in a tractor trailer accident. He was born Oct. 25, 1964, in Uniontown, a son of Nancy J. Walker, of Connellsville, and the late Lester J. Walker Sr. He was a self-employed independent truck driver leased to Kaplan Trucking. He loved to travel in his Freightliner all over the country and enjoyed talking to his buddies over the phone and was known for his favorite saying, "Aaaa that's betturrr." There was a constant connection with his over-the-road friends, Mike, Ron, Pumpkin (John), Scotter (Rick), and numerous others. He loved the outdoors and especially spending time with his family. Many people have a favorite hobby or pastime; his was trucking. Lester is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Tracy McFadden Walker; a son, Brandon Scott Walker, of Connellsville; a grandson, Noah Parker, son of Brandon Walker and Erin White; Lester's father-in-law, Clair McFadden, of Connellsville; grandmother, Alice Hawk, of Connellsville; several brothers and sisters; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Lester was predeceased by his father; a son, Lester J. "Butchie" Walker III; mother-in-law, Barbara McFadden; grandfather, Harold Hawk; and a great-nephew, Gunner Grubbs. Lester J. Walker Jr. was a registered organ donor. Friends will be received from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, (724-628-9033), and until 11 a.m. Thursday, the hour of service, with Pastor Don Smith officiating. Interment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park.
