EDITH PEARL DISPONETT HAWKINS, 91 Edith Pearl Disponett Hawkins, 91, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

She was the wife of the late Bolivar Bond Hawkins and was born January 10, 1921 in Anderson County daughter of the late Nora Bell Searcy and James T. Noon Disponett.

Edith was a retired clerk having worked for Kentucky State Government for the Corrections Department. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg and a graduate of Bardstown High School. Edith had a strong work ethic, a hunger for learning, keeping up with current events and politics, an excellent sense of humor, enjoyed reading and was a proud grandmother.

Edith is survived by her two children, Karen Ann Hawkins and Franklin Tyler Hawkins, a grandson, Anthony Tyler Hawkins, a great grandson, Tyler Christian Hawkins all of Lawrenceburg, two sisters, Mary Lacefield of Lexington and Susie B. Wiley, three brothers, Dave (Brenda) Disponett, John Henry (Lavena) Disponett and J.P. Disponett all of Lawrenceburg.

Including her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother Bill Disponett and two sisters Carrie Durr and Delcie Morgan. Funeral service was Tuesday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Dr. Robert F. Ehr officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jimmy Disponett, Jimmy Morgan, Barry Drury, Mike Lacefield, Tyler Hawkins, Tony Disponett and J.T. Shelton. Honorary bearers were Jo Ann Adams and Julie Brothers.
