Billy Dee Meador, age 84, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Scottsville, KY, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born December 4, 1928 in Allen County, KY to the late Ira Lee and Pearl Barger Meador. He was a farmer and worked at Washington Overall Mfg., Big Four Feed and Implement Company in Scottsville and Ag Services in Bowling Green. He served on the Board of Allen County Water District, Board of Directors of South Allen County Fire District, Allen County Board of Health and as supervisor with Allen County Soil Conservation for 50 years. He was an active member of Mt. Union United Methodist Church for over 64 years and served in many leadership positions.

He is survived by his wife: Beatrice Gilliam Meador of Louisville, formerly of Scottsville, two sons and daughters-in-law: Rev. Jim Dee and Peggy Meador of Louisville, Dr. Keith G. and Katie Meador of Nashville, TN, two daughters and one son-in-law: LaReeca and Joe James and Nanci Sledge Meador all of Louisville, four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Greta Ransom and Bobbie Sims both of Scottsville, Dorothy and Stanley Keen of West Virginia, Geneva and Jim Britt of Bowling Green, two sisters-in-law: Jacquline Meador and Shirley Meador both of Scottsville, seven grandchildren: Kristopher Keith Meador and wife Keri, Emily Jackson and husband Derrick, Sarah James and Elizabeth James all of Louisville, Hannah Meador of Chapel Hill, NC, John Meador of Boston, Mass. And Catherine Meador of Nashville, TN, four great grandchildren: Evan Meador, Mackenzie Jackson, Morgan Jackson and Maggie Meador all of Louisville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers: Euell Meador and Ira Lee Meador, Jr. and three sisters: twin Jennie B. Holbrook, Louise Casada and Camilla Huntsman.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 7 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Union United Methodist Church in Scottsville with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 6 at Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville and after 10:00 AM on Thursday at Mt. Union United Methodist Church.
