Justin Y. Ray 89, of Plainfield, IN, died on February 24, 2013. Justin was born on May 9, 1923 in Tell City, IN to Roscoe E. and Dorthea (Holtzman) Ray. He was a graduate of Tell City High School. He married Lois Earles in 1952, she survives. Justin worked for the Indiana Department of Corrections for 28 years, teaching auto body repair. He was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Danville and the Riley American Legion Post. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy, aboard the USS William C. Miller. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2 in Mary Queen of Peace, with visitation there from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown. Surviving with his wife, Lois are his children, Daniel M. Ray and Jeffrey M. Ray, both of Cloverdale, Timothy C. Ray of Sidney, Nebraska, Karen Beal of Plainfield; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, John R. Ray of Fostoria, Ohio; sister, Delores Edwards of Summerfield, Florida. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Mary Queen of Peace.
