Eric Paul Huber, 52, of Republic, Ohio, and formerly of Sandusky, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013, in his home, following an extended illness. He was born on April 24, 1960, in Sandusky. He graduated from Holy Spirit Seminary in Toledo. He also attended Pontifical College Josephinum.

Eric worked as a caterer, and had a great passion for cooking. He worked for many years at Berardi's Family Kitchen, and was manager of John Cousino's flower shop for many years. He spent much of his life working and showing compassion to others in need. He worked with AGAPE ministries, handicap adults, HIV patients, and so much more.

He was an avid nature lover. He cared for and rescued animals, including dogs, cats, and birds. Being outside in his garden brought him great joy.

Eric is survived by his partner, John Cousino, and family with whom he shared his life; mother, Joan Donaldson Theiry of Inverness Fla.; father, Jack (Stella) Edward Huber of Amherst, Ohio; siblings, Warren (Leslie) of Bay View, Jack Huber Jr. of Columbus, Julia Beverick, and Alesia Finsel both of Sandusky, Amy (Randall) Dolch of Tiffin, Brian of S.C., Holly (Scott) Higgins of Tallahassee, Fla.; nieces and nephews, Brett Huber, Ashley Huber, Edward Huber, Jacob Huber, Jackelyn Huber, Kyle Huber, Samantha Beverick, Drew Beverick, Olivia Fritz, Zachary Dolch, Zoe' Dolch, Izac Travis, Danielle Travis, Lexi Coonrad, Coral Burnaman, Nathan Burnaman, Sarah Kaitlin Higgins, and Haylee Higgins; many great nephews; aunts, Karen (Bernie) Fries of Huron, and Sue Kane of Castalia; many cousins, Linda (Tom) Scanlon, Sheri, Penny, Jeff, Joel, Allison, Pat, Nick, Arthena and Melissa, and all their spouses and children.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Warren and Estella Donaldson; step father, Tymothy Theiry; nephew, Logan M. Dolch; aunt and uncle, Virginia and Charles Bender; other aunts and uncles; and a cousin, Mary Bender.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Prayer services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 8, at the funeral home, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Eric Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
