De Wayne Alton Field, known as Wayne, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2013.
Wayne was born on October 15, 1932 in Nampa, Idaho and was the oldest of six children to Breta Garn and Alton Burton Field.
Wayne married Marlene Moore on Christmas Day 1954 and later the marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple on March, 21, 1964.
Wayne was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and had a wonderful testimony that he willingly shared with others. Wayne served in the Air Force during the Korean War but because of medical reasons was honorably discharged.
Wayne was known for his "letters to the editor" in the Post Register and wasn't afraid to stand up for what he believed in.
Wayne also found great enjoyment in playing his harmonica to little children who were crying or fussy in the store he happened to be soliciting. Wayne often played Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the young children sang along, often forgetting why they were fussing. Wayne always tried to leave them with a smile. That was his nature, a good, kind and gentle tall man. Wayne always had a great story to tell and played his harmonica upon request to the employees of his local bank.
Wayne was very talented with many careers throughout his life. In his younger days, Wayne worked as a newspaper photographer in Los Angeles, CA. His family has been blessed with many framed photographs decorating their homes. Wayne also was employed to hang draperies professionally in many Hollywood stars' homes. As a result, Wayne has many autographed photos of old Hollywood stars from the late 50's and 60's. Wayne developed a great love for the old radio shows and old movies. Wayne always had a camera within his reach. His final career and retirement was with First Security Bank in Boise.
Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marlene; his oldest son, Robert De Wayne; his only daughter, Catherine Anne, and his parents.
He is survived by his two sons, Richard De Wayne (Laurie) Field, and David Alton (Marcia) Field. Wayne loved his 8 Grandchildren and especially enjoyed his 4 Great Grandchildren. Wayne's surviving siblings and their spouses are: LaDonna Jean, Durrell Garn (Kay), Gary Lynn (Linda), Breta Le Ann (Ken), and Brent Elmer (Pam).
In parting, the family wishes to share Wayne's motto: "Life is short, and you only have one chance to get it right, and there are no re-runs."
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Cloverdale Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.
