Carl E. DeBroeck, 69, Wardsville, died Wednesday at Harry S Truman Veterans Administration Hospital, Columbia. He was born Nov. 11, 1915, at Wardsville, a son of Leo and Mary Ann Markway DeBroeck. His mother survives at 1306 W. Main St.
Mr. DeBroeck was a major in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the St. Stanislaus Church, the Holy Name Society of the parish, Knights of Columbus fourth degree, Disabled American Veteran, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Wardsville Lions Club and American Legion.
Survivors include: four brothers, Fred DeBroeck, Wardsville, Ray DeBroeck, Aurora, Colo., Ed DeBroeck, Bothell, Wash., and Leo F. DeBroeck, Wichita, Kan., and two sisters, Mrs. Angeline Schepers, Wardsville, and Mrs. Bernice Block, Jefferson City.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with the Rev. I.C. Medina officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Dulle Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Stanislaus Education Fund or St. Joseph's Home for the Aged.
