Beatrice Dankert of Austin, Minnesota died at Sacred Heart Care Center on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. She was 97 years old.

Born in Little Turkey, Iowa to Anton and Mary (Jarosh) Novotny. As a young woman Bea moved to Austin where she met and married John Dankert. She and John had three sons, Wayne, Larry and Allen. After raising her children she worked as a housekeeper at St. Mark's Nursing Home and as a manager of the Student Letter Exchange.

Bea was a charter member and lifelong volunteer at Queen of Angels Parish. She volunteered as Sacred Heart Care Center, the Philomathian Book Store, the Salvation Army and the Austin Hospital. She was a member of the Austin Art and Travel Club and enjoyed traveling during her retirement.

Her parents, her husband and her youngest son, Allen, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Wayne (Mary) of New York, NY, her son Larry of Faribault, MN; granddaughter, Sarah (Cory) Kim-Tomcek of Hoboken, NJ, granddaughter, Dr. Nicole (David) Hsu of New York, NY.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 2:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Father Raul Silva officiating. There will be a 5 pm CCW rosary and a 7 pm wake service on Thursday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 5-7 pm and also 1/2 hour before the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
