Robert Wayne Simpkins, 64, of Toledo, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior early Saturday morning, February 2, 2013. Bob worked in the maintenance department at Alro Steel ( formerly Art Iron) for 40 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in Vietnam. Bob was a faithful member of Monclova Road Baptist Church, and he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Bob was affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Papa." Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Darlene; sons, Dave and Rob (Anitra) Simpkins; grandchildren Ashlee, Kayla, Nate, Maddy and Neva; brother Homer; and sisters, Linda, Carol and Patty.
Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, on Tuesday, February 5th, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
