Soviet military commander, Admiral. During World War II - one of the commanders of the Black Sea Fleet. He was born in the village of Yuryevka Elisavetgrad district Kherson province. Military service began with the 1914. In 1915 graduated from high school cadets in Sebastopol in 1916 - mine School Training Detachment Black Sea Fleet. During World War I, he served as an mine-engine non-commissioned officer on the destroyer "Hot" and destroyer "Sulin,", he was awarded the George Medal. He served in the Red Navy with in 1918, and participated in the Civil War. With the Destroyer "Hot", was involved in suppressing the uprising Haidamaks in Odessa, on the gunboat "Red Flag" in the Volga Flotilla in Tsaritsyn fought against the forces of Generals A. Denikin and P. Krasnov. He served in the Caspian Flotilla, and participated in the suppression of anti-Bolshevik uprising in Astrakhan. From April 1932 to March 1934, he served as Chief of Staff of the brigade barriers, and trawling from March 1934 to October 1936 - as chief of the combat training of staff of Pacific Fleet. From April 1937 to July 1938, he joined the Spanish Civil War, and was an adviser to the commander of the Navy, for their participation in the war, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner. In 1938 he graduated from the General Staff Academy. From July 1938 to October 1939 he served as Chief of Staff Operations Division Black Sea Fleet. In April 1953 he was appointed First Deputy Commander of the Navy, from November 1956 to June 1958 - Deputy Commander of the Navy for military research. From June 1958 to September 1960 in the Group of Inspectors General of the Ministry of Defense of the USSR to an adviser.
