Mr. Thomas L. Bland, 84, formerly of Taylor County, son of the late William Henry and Frances Ware Bland was born in Taylor County, March 18, 1886. He died at 11:30 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 1970 at the Hardin County Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. He had been a patient in the Elizabethtown Convalescent Home for the past six months. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Survived by three daughters and three sons: Mrs. Evelyn Wooley of Campbellsville, Mrs. Billy Potts of Hodgenville, Henry Bland of Louisville, Mrs. Nora Frances Davis and Thomas Bland, both of Chicago, and Charles Bland of Beloit, Wisconsin. Also survived by nineteen grandchildren. Rosary was recited at 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Funeral Home by John White. Funeral services were conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29th at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev. James Wafzig, burial in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Finis Neal, James Harvey Campbell, Eugene Bland, J.T. Mr. William Turner Bland, 86, son of the late Henry Bland and Fannie Ware Bland, was born in Taylor County, February 9, 1871. He died at the Rosary Hospital at one o'clock a.m. Wednesday, February 20, after a long illness. Mr. Bland was a member of the Baptist Church in Cairo, Illinois and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 237 A. F. and A. M. of Cairo, Illinois. On September 17, 1901 he united in marriage to Miss Birdie Boyd who preceded him in death January 20, 1951, and to this union one daughter was born, Mrs. Sterling A. Decker of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Molly Bland McDonald and one brother, Thomas D. Bland of Louisville; also one sister-in-law, Mrs. John Henderson of Mounds, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, from the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home with services in charge of the Rev. Charlie McNeal. Burial was in Green Lawn Cemetery in Mounds, Illinois. Masons acted as active and honorary pallbearers.
