Daughter of the late Robert Scott and Mary Fitzgerald Dixon.

Graduate of Mars Hill College, Mars Hill, NC and Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC. Attended Furman University.

Retired from the Pickens County School District after 37 years service as a teacher. Taught school in North Carolina, West End Elementary in Easley, and Pickens Elementary School.

Survived by her husband, three daughters and sons-in-law; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: Tuesday, May 1, 2012, chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens.

Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
