Otto H. Gruett, 73, of Rt. 1, Hilbert, died Monday at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, Rantoul. The Rev. Everhardt Klatt will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Gruett was born Oct. 23, 1894, in the town of Rantoul, son of the late Carl and Alvina Burg Gruett, and married Frieda Jentsch Oct. 28, 1916 at Trinity church. He farmed in the town of Rantoul until retirement eight years ago.
Survivors include the wife; two daughters, Mrs. Erna Evenson of Valders and Mrs. Roland (Loretta) Behnke of Rt. 2, Brillion; two sons, Ervin of Potter and Rev. Marvin Gruett of Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Albert Loose, of Bear Creek, Wis., three brothers, Gustave of Chilton and Edwin and Lorenz of Rt. 1, Hilbert, and 12 grandchildren. Two daughters, a sister, a brother and a granddaughter preceded him in death.
