Funeral for Leon Hamilton, 82, of Trinity will be Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Pullen officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Hamilton, who died Friday, July 4, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital, was born June 10, 1926, one of seven children of George T. and Mae Hamilton. He was a graduate of Tennessee Valley Technical School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. Leon was a lifelong farmer and co-owner of H&H Farms. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Sarah McBride Hamilton, who passed away in January, his parents and brothers, Woodrow Hamilton, James P. Hamilton and Wayne Hamilton.
Leon is survived by one son, Mike Hamilton, and his wife, Jan, of Trinity; two grandchildren, Susan Hamilton Mitchell and her husband, Jon, of Calera and Michael Hamilton Jr. of Tuscaloosa; brothers, G.B. Hamilton of Decatur, G.T. Hamilton Jr. of Hillsboro, and sister, Ela Hamilton Sandy of Tanner.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hamilton Jr., Jon Mitchell, Mark Hamilton, John Hamilton, Roger Felkins, Mike Sharp and Tim Wilks.
