Funeral services for Mr. Darrell Fred Hill, age 66 of Ashland, will be Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with J.L. Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mr. Hill passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Lineville Health and Rehabilitation. He was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County and had worked for a number of years with the AG Grocery Store in Ashland. Mr. Hill was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Jewel Hill; one daughter, Tonya Smith (Todd); one son, Tony Hill, all of Ashland; his mother, Margaret Helen Hill of Lineville; two sisters: Jeanette Boring (Bob) of Lineville and Avice Fargason (Jimmy) of Mellow Valley; one brother, Gregory Hill of Dalton, GA plus five grandchildren.
Mr. Hill was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Hill, Jr. and one grandson, Darrell Blane Hill.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Prestridge, Aubrey Prestridge, Donald Prestridge, Jimmy Fargason, Bob Boring and Charles Griffin. Honorary pallbearers are Erin Smith, Erika Smith, Ethan Hill, Trenton Hill and Griffin Hill.
