David was born the 7th of 8 children to Richard "Dick" Sr.and Agnes "Sis" McCabe on August 3, 1959.
He grew up in the small subdivision named Rancho Del Mar in American Canyon, CA alongside his brothers and sisters Judi, Dick Jr, Michael, Jimmy, Barbara, Peggy and Susie.
He followed his father and became an Ironworker.
He loved riding motorcycles, singing karaoke, shooting pool, rafting down Cache Creek, and throwing huge 4th of July parties with his wife Laurie at their home in Suisun City, Ca. He was a very patriotic man and every day flew an American Flag on a tall flag pole at his home.
Together he and Laurie raised 3 daughters, Corinne Herman, Christa McCabe and LeeAnn McCabe. Christa went on to give them a son-in-law Marc Massie who followed him into the Ironworker trade. Marc and Christa gave him 2 beautiful grandchildren Dani' and Tony Massie, whom David loved deeply. David was incredibly proud of his girls and grandchildren.
February 2, 2011 was an incredibly gorgeous day and David left his house on his motorcycle to enjoy a ride and headed to the Northern CA coast. On the way home as he was on a rural country road, David lost control of his motorcycle and hit an oncoming van.
David's death has been an indescribably painful experience for his family and all who loved him; and anyone who knew David loved him, as was evident by the 300+ people who attended his celebration of life at Rancho Solano Country Club.
