Thelma Pearce Davis died February 27, 2013, in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was 92.

Born in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lucy and W. Hampton Pearce.

She was a people person with friends of all ages. Throughout her life, she exhibited a positive attitude. Thelma loved the water, writing letters, walking and ballroom dancing. She brightened countless lives and will be missed by many.

Thelma was a member of Park Ave. Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, VA, until it closed, and then became a charter member of Third Presbyterian Church. She lived in Richmond, VA, for 39 years, where she was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and had many friends whom she considered her second family.

She retired from the personnel department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond.

Thelma and her husband returned to Virginia Beach in September 1997 and lived at Atlantic Shores for 10 years. There, she found a new church family as a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church of Princess Anne. In 2007, they moved to Charleston, SC, where she made many friends, especially at Savannah Grace Assisted Living Facility in Mt. Pleasant.

Her wonderful husband, William A. (Bill) Davis, died in January 2008 and she is survived by family she deeply loved: daughters Linda D. Wood of Charleston, SC, and Robin D. Carr of Savannah, GA; sister Elsie Humphrey and brother-in-law Fred Humphrey of Virginia Beach; brother Lynwood Pearce and sister-in-law Thelma Pearce of Norfolk, VA; granddaughters Emily W. Ricketts and husband, Matthew Ricketts of Paducah, KY, Annabelle Rain Carr of Savannah, GA; grandson Noah Davis Carr and wife, Kim N. Carr of Hong Kong; great-grandchildren Santo Zelaya Carr, Allison Ricketts and James Ricketts; and Pat Sawyer and Ingrid Sparger of Virginia Beach; also nephews, nieces and friends-many forever.

Thelma was also predeceased by brothers, Paul H. and Roy T. Pearce; sisters, Hazel Lane Wagner and Rheba Modlin and beloved nephew, Jack H. Lane, Sr.

A graveside service will be held at a future date at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, VA.
