Bernice Bond Reed, 96, passed away, April 27, 2003 at Skyline Manor Nursing Home. She was a long time member of Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren. She was preceded by her husband, Asa C. Reed; son, Freeman Reed and a grandchild, Becky Lynne Reed. She is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, Treva and Clarence Reed of Roanoke; two sons and daughters-in-law, Elvin and Betty Reed of Floyd, Menis and Carolyn Reed of Floyd; daughter-in-law: Elenaor Reed of Floyd; brother, Glare Bond of Floyd; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Gardner Funeral Home with the Reverend Richard Thomas officiating. Interment followed in Beaver Creek Cemetery. Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd, handled arrangements.
