Fessler, Anton (Jan. 16, 1842-May 20, 1915 [birth date comes from birth record at Oberhausen, Baden –death date comes from death record] –husband of Christina Trost [married on Oct. 22, 1881 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alverno, Town of Manitowoc Rapids –Anton was married by his brother Fr. George Fessler] –son of Johann George Fessler and his second wife Elizabeth Sedler –brother to Fr. Joseph Fessler, who was the founder of the Silver Lake Convent –born at Oberhausen, Freiburg, Baden –immigrated to the US about 1860 in the company of his parents and 5 siblings –Anton was the owner of the 100-acre farm centered at 5629 Calumet Road in Section 34, Town of Manitowoc Rapids –on May 25, 1912, Anton sold this farm to his wife Christina –after Anton’s death in 1915, Christina sold this farm to her son Frank Fessler and his wife Isabel Gehrig –died from “diabetes”) –buried at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Alverno, Town of Manitowoc Rapids [marriage record Manitowoc 5-47] [death record Manitowoc 13-78]

BROTHER OF FOUNDER OF CONVENT DEAD
Anton Fessler a Resident Here for 55 Years
Anton Fessler, a pioneer resident of the county and a brother of the man who founded Silver Lake convent being with two other brothers in the priesthood, died at his home at Silver Lake last night at the advanced age of 73 years.

A widow and nine children survive.

The funeral will be held at Silver Lake Monday morning at 10 o'clock.

Mr. Fessler was a native of Germany and came to Manitowoc as a young man of 18 and had made his home here ever since. He was well known.
