Erma Joy Anselmo passed away on February 14, 2010, at the age of 77 years. Erma was born in Vivian, Louisiana on October 22, 1932, to Clay and Minnie Gryder. Erma married at the early age of 16 to Vincent Anselmo, Sr. on June 30, 1949. The young couple settled in Santa Fe where they enjoyed their family, farm and friends.
Erma and Vincent enjoyed their 58 year union until Vincent’s death on January 4, 2008. Also preceding Erma in death were brothers and sisters Bennie Gryder, Woodie Gryder, Bill Gryder, W.C Gryder, James Gryder, Joe Gryder, Raleigh Nealy, Pearl Chisson, Linnie Brown, Della Mae Strange, and Opal Bourgeois.
Erma is survived by her brother Robert C. Gryder and wife Pat of Homer, Louisiana; daughter Lucille Birkmeyer of Santa Fe, Texas; and son Vincent Anselmo, Jr. and wife Brenda of Friendswood, Texas; grandchildren Tina Baty, Vincent Anselmo III, Anthony Anselmo, and Robert Anselmo; great grandchildren J.J. Baty, Jacob Baty, and Kaleb Baty.
Services for Erma Joy Anselmo will be held at the Crowder Funeral Home located on the corner of Hwy 646 and FM 517 W in Dickinson, Texas. Visitation will be Thursday, February 18, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be at the Crowder Family Funeral Home chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2010, with interment to follow at Old Alta Loma Cemetery in Santa Fe, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Michael Gryder, Kenny Ortamond, John Vanderslice, Jerome Anselmo, Patrick Milligan, and Charles “Bubba” Anselmo. Honorary pallbearers are J.J., Jacob and Kaleb Baty, Vincent III, Anthony and Robert Anselmo.
