"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."

MEMORIAL SERVICE: August 19, 2013 at Lakeview Cemetery Kenmare, ND
We will say our final goodbyes and see you someday!
Worry lines etched deep in her face
As she wondered what she was doing in this place
Tissue being torn in little ragged pieces
Pent up thoughts She did release.

Months ago things were just fine
Not a care in the world , feeling sublime
Then by accident she found that lump
Not really that big, merely a bump.

To be on the safe side, to the doctor she went
He probed and he frowned, she knew what that meant
He sat for a moment, stared straight ahead
I listened real close to the words that he said.

"It could just be a cyst, all fluid filled"
With those words my heart somewhat stilled
"Off for a mammogram, that's where you'll go
No sense in worrying until we know".

A malignant tumor it showed indeed
Growing with unbelievable speed
The hardest part is now the wait
Finding out what will be her fate.

She believed in God's power, perhaps she did pray
To keep watch over her on that fearful day
When she found out where lays her fate
Hoping that it's not too late.

The surgery scheduled, off came the breast
Waking to bandages tight on her chest
The nodes that were taken, cancer was found
She wasn't walking on air, but her feet were touching
the ground.

Elaine fought a great battle over the past few years
Never loosing her faith that all would be well.
As she said, "LIFE IS GOOD !"
always with her positive attitude that she would
beat this with defeat.
Well, she knew she had, had a wonderful Life and was
ready to say Goodbye to everyone special to her in her life
She told me, Oh tell my brother Ernie and Sister "HI
Also saying Not now Mike, for she luved you all with her heart.
Elaine is now our Angel that watches over us.
I, her niece Pam told her she could go home to ND and she did with her snowfall in place. I held her hand and let her go.
We will always leave that special part in our hearts, and always
here the saying......LIFE IS GOOD
NEVER FORGET
RIP IN ELAINE on this peaceful day.
