Oroville Mercury Register, Oroville, CA, Tuesday, Oct 9, 1928, pg 3: "Fraud" Marriage Dissolved; Spouse Claims no Support. The marriage of Mary Ann Bean and Charles A. Bean of Chico was dissolved in court Monday when Judge H.D. Gregory granted Mrs. Bean a decree of annulment on her complaint charging her husband with fraud. She claimed that before her marriage he represented himself as having sufficient funds to take care of his children by a former marriage. Later, however, he was arrested on a charge of non support."

Chico Enterprise Monday January 10, 1944 pg 3 col 3: "Rites Today for Mrs. Mary Bean. Rev. C.A. Pickelman, of the Redeemer Lutheran church conducted services in the funeral chapel of Black, Johnson and Brusie, this afternoon at 1:30 for Mrs. Mary Ann Bean, lifelong resident of Butte County who died at her family home early Saturday morning. Mrs. Fred Byerly sang 'The Valley I Must Walk Through' and 'Beautiful Isle of Somewhere' accompanied by Mrs. Lillian Cook.

There were beautiful floral offerings in profusion around the casket and chapel walls. Interment followed in the family plot of the Chico cemetery."
