Torbrook Mines -
Set. 27 - An impressive Memorial Service was held in the United Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon in memory of the late Pilot Officer Jack Banks, who lost his life in a plane crash serving his county overseas. During the service a tribute was read by the pastor, Rev. A.G. McClare from a former pastor, Rev. L.B. Wright, followed by the placing of a wreath by Walker Armstrong beside that of his brother, the late Able Seaman Merle Banks.
Note: He died in England on Thursday 03 June 1943, and is buried in Kidlington Burial Ground, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom.
