Robert Howard Alderman, 84, of Delray, WV died on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the home of his daughter in Winchester, VA.
Mr. Alderman was born on February 13, 1929 in Spokane, WA, the son of the late Samuel and Selma Smith Alderman.
He was a carpenter, member of the Baptist Faith and the NRA.
Surviving are six sons: Steve Alderman, Samuel Alderman, Alan "Gene" Alderman and JB Alderman all of Delray, WV; Daryl Alderman of Piolet, VA; Alvin Alderman of Augusta, WV; a daughter: Phyllis Estes of Winchester, VA; three brothers: Bernard Alderman of Yakima, WA; Douglas MacPherson of Richmond, VA; Donald MacPherson of Spencer, VA; five sisters: Mary Alice Turley of Fort Worth, TX; Lottie Revis of Craigsville, VA; Loraine Alderman of Jackson, MI; Elizabeth Martin of Marlinton, WV; Alvonia Smith of Salamanca, NY; 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by three brothers: James Alderman, Charles Alderman and Morris Alderman.
A funeral service will be held at the Giffin Funeral Home in Capon Bridge, WV on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Paul Estes. Interment will be at the Green Lane Cemetery in Delray, WV.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 6-8 PM.
