Ray Buhler, age 75, passed away November 16, 2006 in St. George, UT after a long, courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born September 3, 1931 to Joseph and Georgia Jones Buhler, the youngest of five children. He married Shanna Giles November 30, 1953. After graduating from South High School, Ray attended Westminster College where he starred on the basketball team for many years, graduating in 1958. He served in the military from 1954-56, stationed in Germany. He also worked as a plumber, a redcap with the railroad and at Kennecott before moving to Southern California. There he embarked on a successful career in medical sales. He helped many people get a start in the business and made lifelong friends in the process. During his 40 years in California, he raised a beautiful family with Shanna and pursued his many interests. He was a big sports fan following the Lakers then the Jazz. His favorite team was whatever team his kids were playing on. Ray also loved to hunt, spending many hours hunting ducks on Ogden Bay, chasing pheasants throughout Utah and dove in Arizona. He started a duck hunting club in California where he spent many days on the hunt with his beloved dogs Beau and Rip. Ray also had a love of cars, especially Cadillacs. He loved to read and listen to great music. In 1993, Ray retired and moved to St George, UT. He made frequent trips to Mesquite, NV, where he made regular "withdrawals". He loved to tell stories which became more colorful and creative with each telling. His life was marked by integrity, generosity, hard work, determination and perseverance. He endured over 40 years of a debilitating disease without complaint.
