After graduating from McClain Business College in Bluefield, W.Va., Ruby served in many offices doing office, bookkeeping, and secretarial work. Ruby always had a song in her heart and music, especially singing, was a major part of her life. She had a beautiful soprano voice and used her God-given talent for the Lord, singing in the choirs at the First United Methodist Churches in Bluefield, Va. and Winter Park, Fla.

Ruby will be buried next to her husband, Phillip, and their first daughter, Alice Sue Billips, who died at birth in Bluefield, Va., at the Maple Hill Cemetery on Saturday, March 9. There will be a graveside service only on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Brad Scott officiating.
