"Mrs. A. C. Borst, for many years active in the First Methodist Episcopal church of Oneonta and its societies, particularly children's groups, and in the W. C. T. U., died at her home, No. 9 High street in that city at 12:40 Sunday morning, following an illness extending over three years. Her condition had been less satisfactory for the past three months. Death was due to complications. Isabella Eckler was born August 14, 1865, at Middlefield, the daughter of Alvin and Mary Jane (Marsh) Eckler. Her father died March 25th, 1866, and on December 25th, 1872, his younger brother, Charles Eckler, married her mother and became a loving father. She lived at Middlefield until her marriage August 13th, 1884, to Arthur C. Borst, who was conducting a store there. They moved to Oneonta at once, and that city had since been her home. Mr. Borst dealt in stores during his lifetime, owning ventures in many communities of this section of the state. His death occurred March 16th, 1932 ... Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Francis J. Tyler of Cooperstown, RD 2, and a number of cousins, among them Mrs. Willard Fowler of Cooperstown, who was a close friend. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Bookhout Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Dr. George H. Phillips, her pastor.
