Christened Joseph Edwin Lyle Donnelly but always called Ed or Edwin. He was given the names Edwin Lyle after the Donnelly's family Doctor, Edwin Lyle Brown from Aultsville, Ontario. Doctor Brown continued to treat the family even after retirement. A very kind man he was.

Ed Donnelly was Canadian National Railway Section Foreman. Ed was born in Farran's Point, Ontario and is son of Joseph Archie Donnelly and Margaret Elizabeth McClelland. Ed married Clara Irene Sheets, daughter of Easton Sheets and Esther Heath.

Edwin was predeceased by his dear Father, Joseph (1869-1963), cherished Grandmother, Lucinda Thompson Donnelly (1828 - 1915), loving sister Beatrice Hilary Donahue of NY, USA, and Dear son-in-law, Stanley Renwick of Brinston, Ontario

Survived by brothers in law Thomas Donahue,sisters Myrtle (Bill) McConnell of Massena NY, Lillian (Leo) Weagant of Belleville, Ontario, Lena (Danny) Solomon of Syracuse NY, Brothers: Allan (Hariette) and Zene Donnelly of Ingleside, Ontario and children: Cyril (Sylvia)of Mallorytown, Ontario, Margaret of Ontario, Merle (Margaret)of Brockville, Ontario, Ruth of Ontario, Barbara of Cornwall Ontario & Brenda, Joan & Beatrice of Brockville, Ontario and wife Clara of Cornwall, Ontario, and nieces, and nephews: Brian, Cathy, Gregory, Mitchel, Darrell, Randy, Deborah, Jerry, Ronnie, Robbie, Dale, Steven, Richard, and Joan Patricia. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and some Aunts, Uncles , and cousins. He will be dearly missed by his family and special niece Joyce and friends, the Hartles and Wilfred cook.

Daddy enjoyed helping neighbours dig wells in the early years. He was the community barber and watch repair man. He was the caller at square dances and played harmonica. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
