In 1810-11, Isaac's family crossed the Cumberland Gap from Virginia into Kentucky, then northward across Ohio river into Franklin County, Indiana Territory. About 1820, Isaac moved to Columbia Twp, Fayette, Indiana.
On 2 Oct 1828, Isaac married Rebecca Thompson in Fayette Co, Indiana, wed by his uncle, the Rev James Newhouse. Isaac and Rebecca moved their family from Indiana to Fulton Co, Illinois in 1839, and settled along Cedar Creek near Troy in Union Twp. Rebecca died in Jan 1865, and in March 1865, Isaac remarried Margaret Beck in Knox Co, Illinois.
