Grace Granstra, daughter of Steve and Johanna (Heynen) Hulstein, was born December 1, 1909, in Sioux Center, where she lived her youth and attended school She attended Western Christian High School in Hull, for one year.

She married Jacob Granstra of Sanborn on November 1, 1927, in Sioux Center. They lived and fared in Ocheyedan, Maurice, and Harris until they moved to Ocheyedan in 1971. They retired in 1973 and enjoyed spending their winters in Mesa, AZ.

Grace was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Ocheyedan where she was a member of the Dorcas Ladies Aid Society. She also enjoyed helping with the refund program for the Ocheyedan Christian Grade School.

Grace entered Sibley Nursing and Rehab Center in Sibley on March 8, 1985. She lived there until her death on Nov. 30.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Bill Kiel of Hartley; Lavonne and Gary Kanis of Grand Rapids, MI; Stephena and Stanley Van Iperen of Lake Wilson, MN; one son and daughter-in-law, Bernard and Elsie Granstra of Ocheyedan; one son and daughter-in-law, Bernard and Elsie Granstra of Ocheyedan, one son-in-law, Orville Jacobsma; 24 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Henrietta Kiel of Sheldon.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Delores Jacobsma; one grandson, Calvin Kiel; two great-grandchildren, Curtis Hoogland and Cristina Hoogland; four brothers and four sisters.
