Zelma Faye (Rutherford) Parker, 89, passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, in Crestlawn Memorial Park in Riverside, Calif.

A family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Zelma was born Oct. 29, 1918, in Skedee, Okla., to Bruce Ellis and Julia Fay Walker Rutherford. On May 8, 1940, Zelma married Clyde Nolon Parker in Tampa, Florida.

Zelma had lived in Wichita Falls since Oct. 1993, having lived in Riverside, Calif., for 40 years prior to coming to Texas. She had worked as a sales clerk for Harris Department Store in Riverside for many years. The last two years she was a resident of Grace Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Loraine Popejoy, and by her husband Clyde Parker who passed away in Aug. 1992.

She is survived by her son, Alvin Parker and his wife Karen of Wichita Falls, Texas; two brothers, Ellis Rutherford of Mentone, Calif., and Dallas Rutherford and his wife Betty of Mayer, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Darryl Parker and his wife Suella of Wichita Falls, and Cheryl Harshbarger and her husband Mason of North Little Rock, Ark.; and by two great-grandchildren, Mercedes Harshbarger and Addison Baird.
